Britta D. Kurtz July 23, 2012 Britta D. Hepfner Kurtz, 90, of Solvay passed away peacefully Monday with her family at her side. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Central Tech and Powelson Business Institute. She was a 50+ year member of the Mountaintop Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary. Britta was a member and former secretary of Solvay United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Britta was an avid crafter and enjoyed playing bridge with her high school friends, who played together for over 70 years. She was predeceased by her husband John "Bud" Kurtz in 2003. Survivors: two daughters, Judy A. (Gerry) Hunt of Marcellus, and Diane (Bill) Marsch of Fairmount; son, John E. Kurtz of Westvale; grandchildren, Benjamin Nann, Jerry, Christopher, and Jon Hunt, Christopher and Jason Marsch, Ashley Kurtz; several great grandchildren; her sister, Gretchen Lutzy; several nephews. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Solvay United Methodist Church, 206 Center St., Solvay NY 13209 or Solvay Fire Dept. 1925 Milton Ave. Solvay, NY 13209.
