Frederick Brown June 21, 2012 Frederick "Uncle Fred" Brown, 90, of Syracuse passed away Thursday, from injuries received in a fire at his home. Fred was born 9/4/1921 to Henry and Catherine Brown in Winfield, NY. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He worked for Loblaws and Peters Markets and was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union. He was an avid NY Yankee and SU Sports fan. He had a great memory and was like a grandfather to his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Rowena and Sister Ann Elizabeth SSJ, and his brothers, Henry and James Brown. Survivors: He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will greatly miss him. Services: 9:00 a.m. Monday at St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
