Robert Edward Chrysler, 79, of Lakeside passed away Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born in Syracuse, he was a retired truck driver. After retiring he drove a school bus for the Solvay schools for many years. Robert was a member of the Lakeside Fire Dept., Hill Top Club, Geddes Vets, Tyrol Club, VFW (Sackets Harbor), and the Moose Club. He was a beloved father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Margaret, in 2003. Also predeceasing him were his sister Joan and his parents.
Survivors: sons, Robert and Ronald (Annette); daughters, Karen (Ed) Wierzbicki and Donna Chrysler; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister Betty Tassone; and brothers: Al, Carl, Billy, Don, and Kenny.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lakeside Fire Dept. or Solvay Schools, c/o 112 Savaria Dr., Syracuse 13209.
