Obituary of Darlene J. Mahoney

Darlene J. Hall Mahoney, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Darlene was a longtime employee of the Home Insurance Company, and retired from Ellis, Moreland, and Ellis in 2010, with many special friendships made over the years. Most of all she loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed her "girls" (granddaughters). Days spent with her great-granddaughter Laila Rain Davis were always extra special. She enjoyed decorating her log home, and loved shopping trips, seeking out unique and old fashioned gift shops. Always thinking of others, kind and generous was the rule. Survivors: her husband of 42 years, Edward Mahoney; daughter, Joanne (Randy) Bygall; son, James Mahoney; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; sister, Sally (John) Allen; 1 aunt, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services: There will be no services per Darlene's wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Darlene's name may be made to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance www.ovariancancer.org or the charity of your choice.
