Obituary of Ecla Martone

Ecla Martone September 27, 2011 Ecla Martone, 87, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital with her family by her side. Ecla was born in Paternopoli, Italy on July 3, 1924. Ecla met Joseph, the love of her life, in Italy. Their whirlwind romance produced 4 beautiful children and 56 years of wedded happiness. Ecla immigrated to the United States in 1955. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount, a faithful servant to our good Lord. Ecla held a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She dedicated her life to her family, and was "Mamma Martone" to all who knew her. Ecla, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend has been a blessing and treasure to us all. We will miss her dearly until we meet again. Survivors: her loving husband Joseph; two daughters, Maria (Rick) Filippi, Rita Pecoriello (Donato), two sons Ralph and Joseph (Nancy) Martone, four grandchildren Christina and Julianna Filippi and Michael and Anthony Pecoriello and a loving extended family as well. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum in DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.
