Genevieve Naples Vannelli, 79, life resident of Solvay, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22 with her family by her side at the Seneca Nursing Home, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's. She retired after 27 years with Niagara Mohawk. She enjoyed cooking for her family, crossword puzzles, reading, and trips to Florida and Wildwood, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Richard "Dick" Vannelli in 2009. Her sister, Rose Zaccanelli and her brother Rocco Naples.
Survivors: her sons, Jeff Vannelli of Solvay, and Rick Vannelli of Bridgeport; brother, John (Marge) Naples of Solvay; many nieces and nephews.
Services: 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Rd., Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Genevieve's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204, www.alz.org
