May the Lord hold you in the hollow of his hand. May the wind be always at your back, and I hope you were in Heaven an hour before the devil knew you were dead.
You are a great mentor and I will never forget the things you taught me.
Your Loving brother,
John Kevin

Dearest Uncle Mike,
May you have warm words on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

May our Lord bless and keep you close, dear Mike. Your wonderful sense of humor lightened even the heaviest load. Your insightful leadership and wise counsel made possible so many of Senator D'Amato's successes. It was a special honor to know you. I cherished the times we colloborated and appreciate so very much your friendship these many years.
May you know His graces and infinite love.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike in Senator D'Amato's office for many years. He enjoyed life to the fullest: the finest food, drink and cigars. It's the end of an era. They don't make men like Mike anymore.
May he rest in peace.

Farewell to a generous mentor who willingly shared his knowledge, humor and love of life with all those fortunate to call him 'friend.' In a City often consumed with itself, Michael, despite all of his accomplishments, never forgot where he came from. And his lifelong commitment to his family, his friends and his faith are testament to a life well-lived.

I've never known anyone who loved life more, was funnier or was smarter than Michael. He was, indeed, a bon vivant with an indomitable spirit. Those of us lucky enough to have had him in our lives will surely miss him, but will smile whenever we think of him.

At 14 years of age I volunteered to work on Jim Hanley's 1st re-election campaign. Mike became a mentor and a friend. I interned in Hanley's DC office in '73. We stayed in touch until I moved to FL in '82 and we lost contact, for which I am sorry. He is one of 5 people who I consider among the greatest influences on me as a teenager and young man.

I was stunned when Uncle Jackie stopped in this morning and told me about Michael's passing. He was always the wise (like an owl) one of the Charles Ave kids. I know he loved you all dearly and you all returned the feelings to him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
So sorry I did not get to see all of you again.

Our dear brother Michael left us 23 days ago. Whle the grief is still very raw , the hardest part will be in the months and years to come, knowing that he will never be here with us to share all of the good times and the bad. He will always be present in spirit and in my heart. While he always filled up a room while he was with us,I feel that he has the same presence in Heaven .

Mike touched the lives of many in so many ways. His humor, sincerity, insight, dedication, effectiveness, and zest for life will be sorely missed by those of us who have had the honor of having had him in our life. The twinkle of his eye, the burst of laughter, and his bottom line approach to everything will be remembered always. We all pass through this existence and leave an imprint on others. Mike's imprint was the size the Grand Canyon on each and every one of us who have called him our friend. May God bless his soul.
