Obituary of Lucy Cappuccilli

Lucy Madelyn Baranello Cappuccilli, 89, formerly of Syracuse passed away Saturday at her home in Alexandria, Virginia. A native of Syracuse she worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 30 years. She was also an employee of the Onondaga Savings Bank during her retirement. She was married to the late Joseph Anthony Cappuccilli also of Syracuse, a veteran of the Syracuse Fire Department. Mrs. Cappuccilli was a parishioner of Most Holy Rosary Church in Syracuse and later of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Community in Alexandria, Virginia. Survivors: five daughters Ms. Teresa Cappuccilli, Ms. Angela Gannon (Timothy Gannon), Ms. Mary Jo Cappuccilli (Dr. Lawrence Friedman), Ms. Joanne Fortune (Dr. James Fortune) and Ms. Nancy Scholnick. She has 7 grandchildren, William and Amelia Gannon, Matthew Friedman, Lt. James and William Fortune and Beverly and Joseph Scholnick. She has one great-grandchild, Christopher Friedman. She is also survived by her brother, Pasquale Baranello of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave. Syracuse.
