Obituary of Charles "Phil" Read

Charles "Phil" Read, 94, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, December 13, in Stuart, FL. Born in Toronto, he lived most of his life in Syracuse. He was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School and Syracuse University College of Law. During WWII, Phil served in the US Coast Guard. He worked 25 years for the Automobile Club of Syracuse and would later work in real estate sales until his retirement. Phil was a former member of Drumlins Country Club, Cazenovia Golf Club, and Bellevue Country Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane in 2001 and his daughter, Sarah Flynn in 2016. Survivors: his son, Charles P. Read Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Heather and Kimberly; 4 great grandchildren; brother, William S. Read of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews. Services: 10 am Tuesday January 17, at Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
