Marjorie J. Kime August 5, 2010 Marjorie J. Kime, RN of Syracuse died at VanDuyn Home and Hospital August 5, 2010. Born September 25, 1918 in Wicklow, Ontario, Canada, she was a 1942 graduate of Belleville General Hospital School of Nursing. She also attended Toronto Bible College. Mrs. Kime was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Albert Kime in 2006. Mrs. Kime worked as a nurse in many communities in Ontario and the U.S., following her husband's career as a minister. Locally she worked at Syracuse Memorial Hospital and retired from Gentile Nursing Service. She was known for her compassion and advocacy for her patients. Marjorie was a devout Christian, taught Sunday School, organized youth groups, and led Bible Studies in churches they served. Always a talented seamstress, Mrs. Kime became an avid quilter after her retirement at age 72. She shared her quilting talents and spectacular use of color with family, neighbors, and her larger community. She had "prayer quilt" ministry, making quilts for anyone who needed to be wrapped in prayers for healing. Mrs. Kime is survived by her daughters, Linda Jackson and her husband Robert, Donna Collette and her husband Jay; and her son Glenn Kime. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Eric Jackson and his fiance Kerry Scott, David Jackson and his wife Sara, Tracy, Ryan and Jordan Collette and two great granddaughters, Sky Stone and Caroline Jackson. A sister-in-law, Elsie Lee and numerous nieces and nephews also cherish her memory.
