Louise (Lutz) Murphy, 85, of Solvay, formerly of Westvale, passed away peacefully Friday at home. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, she was a 1948 graduate of Eastwood High School and a 1952 graduate of Syracuse University's School of Art. Before getting married, she worked briefly in fashion design in New York City and Dallas, Texas. Later, she was an assistant manager at The Addis Company, the publisher of a weekly Camillus newspaper, and did computer graphics for 12 years at the Arts Council in the Civic Center's theater management office. Most of all, she was a loving wife and mother, sister, and friend. In addition to spending time with her family, Louise was a talented artist, enjoyed gardening, reading, and was active in organizing Eastwood High School reunions. She was predeceased by her parents Karl and Irma Lutz, a brother George Lutz, and a sister Luzia Muller. Survivors: include her husband of nearly 62 years, James Murphy; her daughter, Linda (John) LaConte of Liverpool; sons, Michael (Dawn) Murphy of Liverpool, Timothy (Sandy) Murphy of Liverpool, and Daniel (Shari) Murphy of Camillus; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; brother, Karl (Carol) Lutz of Syracuse; sisters, Ruth (Herman) Rinefierd of Liverpool and Diane "Louise" Lutz (Joe Zader) of Tully; sister-in-law, Kitty (Jack) Verrette of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Church, 501 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation Of CNY, Inc., 731 James St, Suite 200, Syracuse, NY 13203.
