Joseph Bonczek May 13, 2010 Joseph Bonczek, after a brief illness, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 13th at William Childs Hospice Hospital in Florida. Joe was born in Syracuse on 2/10/1921 and resided there until three years ago when he moved to Florida with his daughter and son-in-law. Joe was employed for 34 years at Bristol Myers Squibb as a tablet producer. He was a staff sergeant in the Marine Corp and received an honorable discharge during World War II. Joe was an avid bowler, golfer and loved to work around his home as a craftsman. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Westvale. He was also a former member of the Pastime Athletic Club. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna (Woytan) Bonczek. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Fred Fonehouse, son and daughter-in-law Tom and Marybeth Bonczek of McKinney, TX, his three grandchildren, Melanie Soulier, Kayla Bonczek and Christopher Fonehouse, his brother Victor Bonczek and sisters Helen Jacuk and Marion Cyr, and many nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29th at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 28th at the Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St., Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the William Childs Hospice Hospital, 381 Medplex Pkwy NE, Palm Bay, FL 32907-2570.
