Obituary of Herbert H. Coleman

Herbert H. Coleman, 88, of Onondaga passed away unexpectedly Saturday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of Solvay High School and attended SUNY Delhi. Herb retired as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds after 38 years from West Genesee School District. He loved boating and camping and was known as the "mayor" of Lollipop and Brennan Beach.

Herb was predeceased by his wife Bernetta in 2002 and his longtime companion, Alice Matteson in 2022.

Survivors: his children, Suzanne (Mike), Tom (Alayne), Sandra; grandchildren, Brenda, Bryan (Lindsay), Jason, (Rachel), Karysta, Kari; great grandchildren, Brooks, Diana, Paige, Sarah, Harrison, Bennette, Callum, Damien, Addison, Tyler, James, and Iris; sister, Katherine (Derek) Lee.

Services: 11 am Thursday July 21, at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners, A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 am  Thursday July 21, prior to the service at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St., Syracuse.
