Norman Gedney January 31, 2010 Norman John Gedney, 88, formerly of Syracuse passed away Sunday in Concord, NC. Mr. Gedney was born April 2, 1921 in Onondaga County to the late Charles William Gedney and the late Beatrice Irene Rouse Gedney. He served in WWII as 1st Sergeant in the 5th Air Force Service Squadron. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Phillipines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Survivors: his daughter, Nancy Burleson of Albemarle, NC; stepson, Richard Lovell; sister, Beatrice Cicarelli of Syracuse; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Friday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hour will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home 1921 W. Genesee St. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 and the Diabetes Foundation 222 South Church Street Suite 336M Charlotte, North Carolina 28202.
