
Obituary of Gregory A. Cottet
Gregory Arthur Cottet, 75, of Cleveland NY, passed away peacefully at his home on the 4th of July, following a long illness. He was born on May 31, 1951 in Syracuse to Arthur and Edna Mae Cottet. Greg was a 1968 graduate of Westhill High School. He was an excellent athlete participating in football, wrestling and baseball. Greg was an expert skier and also excelled at high diving and gymnastics. He was a talented artist and photographer.
Greg attended the University of Colorado – Boulder and studied architecture. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity there. During his time in Colorado, Greg was introduced to and became intrigued by geodesic domes. Throughout his life, he built domes in Colorado, Alaska and here. Greg fell in love with Colorado and participated in the world class skiing there. He owned land and lived in the San Juan Mountains near Telluride during the 1970’s before that area became widely popular.
Greg was predeceased by his parents and, in 1975, by the love of his life, Lorraine Sliski.
He is survived by his sister Deborah, his brother, Gary (Kristin) and several nieces and nephews. Greg donated his body to the Upstate Medical Anatomical Program for medical research.
Calling hours will be held 2 to 3:30pm on Thursday July 16, 2026 at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee Street, Syracuse. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:30pm.
