Obituary of Joseph J. Millet

Joseph J Millet, 62, of Lakeland, passed away at home on June 20, 2026 from cancer. Joe grew up in the Galeville area and graduated from Bishop Ludden High School. He served in the Army National Guard and retired after 26 years in the Syracuse Fire Department. Following his retirement he worked at the family business, Pope’s Grove Golf Course. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and an occasional round of golf with his sons and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Susan (Pope) Millet; his parents, Nancy and John Millet of Liverpool; his sister, Debra; his sons, Daniel and Douglas and grandsons, Jackson and Anthony; sisters-in-law, Shelley Carter of San Francisco and Stacey Pope of Camillus; niece Liana Youst; nephews, Benjamin Pope, Nathan Youst, D’Andre Pope and was predeceased by nephew George (Samuel) Youst in 2023.

A graveside service with family and friends will be held on Saturday June 27, 2026, 10:00am at Belle Isle Cemetery 3635 Armstrong Road in Camillus.
