Obituary of John F. Gassen

John F. Gassen, 84 of Syracuse passed away peacefully at Francis House, Tuesday, April 28. He retired from Conrail after 30 years of service as a brakeman. John loved fishing and scratch off tickets.

Survivors: his wife of 56 years, Mary (Garofalo) Gassen; son, David (Rae) Gassen; daughter, Amy (Michael) Young; grandsons, Anthony and Christopher Young, and Rocco Gassen; sisters, Carol Kapcheck and Patricia Santos; sister in law, Theresa LoFaro; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Friday May 1, at Holy Family Church 127 Chapel Drive, Syracuse. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum.
