Obituary of Larry E. Bevens

Larry (Red) Bevens, 91, of Solvay passed peacefully April 13, 2026 at home surrounded by family. He was US Army veteran. Red was a mechanic with Day and Night Auto service, the Village of Solvay Highway Dept. He was a former captain with Solvay Fire Department and Member of the Vendetti Post VFW. Red was a avid hunter, Nascar fan, and a private pilot flying cessna 172s.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marge, his parents, brother, Edward, his son, Larry and his grandson, Richard.

Survivors: daughters, Maureen Procopio, Kathy Procopio, MaryJane Cavano; nine grandchildren, April, Amanda, Frank, Brandy, Eric, Candace, Glen, Timothy, and Terry; several great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Bevens; sister, Betty Slate; several nieces and cousins.

A special thank you to Upstate Community Hospital, all first responders, and Hospice of CNY.

Calling hours will be 11am to 12:30pm Tuesday April 21, with a Service to follow at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St. Syracuse, NY. Burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga Veterans Cemetery.
