
Obituary of Nancy A. Scobell
Nancy Gilmore Scobell, born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, to Alfred and Emily Gilmore, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to her family and community.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Bradford High School and went on to pursue her passion for caring for others at the Bradford Hospital School of Nursing. She devoted her life to the nursing profession, ultimately retiring as a charge nurse from Van Duyn Nursing Home, where she was known for her compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication to her patients.
She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, George Albert Scobell Jr., with whom she shared 53 wonderful years until his passing in 2024. Together, they enjoyed a deep love for the outdoors, creating cherished memories on family vacations on the St. Lawrence River in upstate New York.
Nancy is survived by her niece, Dawn Hauze and her husband, Greg Hauze; her stepchildren, George Scobell III, Donald Scobell, Kenneth Scobell, and Joanne Bill; as well as seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Gilmore, and her sister-in-law, Marcie Gilmore.
Nancy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast love for her family, and a lifetime devoted to caring for others. Her life was a beautiful reflection of compassion, generosity, and quiet strength.
Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the lives she touched will continue to carry her memory forward for generations to come.
