Obituary of Thomas P. Argy

On March 13, 2026, Thomas P. Argy (87) left his home in Lakeland for his seat at the big game on the “Field of Dreams.” Tom grew up in Solvay, a place that he was proud to call home for many years. Tom graduated from Solvay High School where he was a member of the baseball and football teams.

Tom retired after 40 years of service with Carrier Corporation. An avid sports aficionado, no game, league, level nor stat escaped Tom. Through the years, Tom could be found in the stands watching his sons, grandsons and great-grandchildren compete. Of all sports though, baseball was Tom’s passion and nothing stood between him and his beloved New York Yankees.

A man of many passions, Tom was a past member of the original Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps. Tom was a member of the NY Federation of Contest Judges since it’s early years as well as a past president and Chief Judge. Tom was also a member of the Hilltop Club of Solvay where he enjoyed many years of good times and friendships.

Tom loved his family deeply and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy (Clisson) Argy, his sons, Jeffery and James Argy, Grandsons, Ryan (Veronica) and Timothy (Brittany) Argy, 4 great grandchildren, his sister Carol Argy, sister-in-law Tracey (James) Tate and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were private per the family’s wishes.

Contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Dept., 1002 State Fair Blvd, Syracuse, N.Y.13209.

As the season warms and the grass again greens, you’ll hear the call, “Batter Up!”, think of Tom, because he’ll be there.
