Obituary of Debbie Dee Clare

Debbie Clare, 54, of Camillus, died October 14th at Upstate Medical University Hospital, with close friends at her side. Born on April 18, 1971, Debbie was the beloved daughter of Jerry and Mary (Pidcerkowny) Clare and granddaughter of Pearl Pidcerkowny, all preceding her in death.

Debbie was known to 1980s Central New York television viewers as the star of commercials for her parents’ business, Jerry’s Carpets. She was a graduate of Westhill High School and the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, then pursued a career in higher education publishing, taking on marketing roles at Prentice Hall and McGraw Hill.

She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she was a proud member of the Apostleship of Prayer and a supporter of the church’s annual Syracuse Ukrainian Festival. 

A calling hour will be 10:30 to 11:30 am Monday, October 20 at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 West Genesee Street. Funeral Services will be 12pm Monday, October 20 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Clare Family Mausoleum at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Salisbury Rd.
