Obituary of Patricia A. Kirchner

Patricia A. (Lane) Kirchner, 91, a devoted mom and grandmother who delighted in beating her relatives in card and board games, passed on August 3, 2025. She was born in Solvay, NY to Patrick and Anna Lane. She married and raised her family in Liverpool, living in the same home for 60 years.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, James A. and son, James P.  Kirchner (Sharyle Doherty). She is predeceased by several siblings and their spouses to whom she was very close.

She leaves behind her son, Robert (Christine); grandsons, Robert and Scott Kirchner and her daughter, Mary and grandson Conor (JoBeth) Kirchner as well as many loved nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Pat loved reading novels, watching old movies, and listening to a wide range of music, from Peggy Lee to Earl Bostic to John Lennon. She enjoyed traveling, SU basketball (although she often was too nervous to watch the final minutes, especially against the Hoyas and Blue Devils), and having ‘just a taste’ of a good Irish whiskey. Pat enjoyed the challenge of researching her family tree back many generations to her roots in Ireland, before online options, and spent countless hours at the library looking through old newspapers on microfiche. Pat was known for telling lengthy stories with no end point and had a wry sense of humor.

What she cherished most in life was spending time with her extended family. Pat, aka Nana, never passed on a chance to play any party game. She hosted the family Christmas Eve for many years and participating in a game or two was required admission. Nana will always be remembered and loved.
