Obituary of Paul F. Doherty

Paul F. “Fritz” Doherty, 65, originally from West Roxbury, MA, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at Van Duyn Center. Born on November 14, 1959 Paul was the beloved son of the late Paul V. “Doc” Doherty and Evelyn P. (King) Doherty. He was also predeceased by his brother James.

Paul was a proud graduate of Catholic Memorial High School, Class of 1977, and went on to earn his degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, in 1982. Throughout his life, Paul was known for his deep kindness, unwavering faith, and genuine love for those around him.

A devout Catholic, Paul’s faith was a guiding light in his life, shaping his actions, his relationships, and his outlook. He had a warm heart, a generous spirit, and a deep sense of compassion that touched everyone who knew him. Paul also had a lifelong passion for music, particularly the Grateful Dead, whose songs and spirit brought him joy and connection throughout the years.

He will be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated 10am Friday, August 29 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 2656 Warners Rd. Warners, NY 13164. Burial will follow in Blessed Virgin Mary Church Cemetery.
