Obituary of Nancy Pettit
Nancy M. Pettit, 75, a long- term resident of Syracuse, passed away Saturday August 19, 2017 in Carlsbad California. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Syracuse to David and Margaret Scannell.
Nancy graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy and Central City Business Institute. She began her career as a secretary at Upstate Medical Center and retired 40 years later as the Department Manager of the State University of New York Research Foundation Neurosurgery Department.
She is predeceased by her parents, David and Margaret Scannell and her husband William J. Pettit.
She is survived by her daughter Cathleen (Joseph) Reid; grandsons Finn and Owen; sister Kathleen (Robert) Dunham; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Church 4112 E. Genesee Street on Friday, August 25 th at 10AM. The family will greet friends at the church an hour before the mass.

Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
A private burial service will be held for the family.
