Obituary of Wilbur B. Clark

Wilbur "Wil" B. Clark, 90, of Fairmount passed away Thursday. Born in Geddes, he was a graduate of Solvay High School where he played on the football team. Wil was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving as a military policeman in Korea with the 6th MP Infantry Division. He started his career in carpentry building homes in the Fairmount area. Wil would later start his own business, W.B. Clark Contractor, serving the community for over 23 years. He was a communicant and usher at Holy Family Church. He continued to serve his community by being a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Wil volunteered at Crouse Hospital and Francis House. He would continue his woodworking creating furniture and decorative pieces for family and friends. He was an avid golfer, Yankees and Giants fan. His family was very important to him. Survivors: his wife of 68 years, Jo (Barbieri) Clark; son, Bruce Clark; daughter Becky (James) Bye; Patti (Michael) Doherty; son, William (Ellen) Clark; daughter, Roberta O'Neill; daughter in law, Joan (Cushing) Clark; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services: 9:30am Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 am at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
