John "Jack" W. Luckhurst, 87, of Syracuse passed away Saturday at home. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of Solvay High School. Jack worked over 20 years for Allied Chemical. He was a member of the IBEW Local 43 and retired from the Syracuse Fire Department as an electrician. He was a communicant of St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church. Jack was a 50 year member the Solvay Tigers. After retirement he volunteered for many years at Community Hospital. Survivors: his wife of 66 years, Beverly J.(Leahy) Luckhurst; son, John (Joan) Luckhurst; daughters, Cheryl (Joseph) Guadagnolo, Doree (Douglas) Reno; grandchildren, Derek Guadagnolo, Corrinne Guadagnolo-Sherman, Aubrie Smith, Anne Smith, William Luckhurst, Alison Brainard, Jacquelynn and Meghan Reno; great grandchildren, Joseph, Phoebe, Sophia, Maia, Calvin, Chloe, Emma, Lucas, Ewan, Stella, Grace, Hazel, Gwen; brother in law, William Leahy; many nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. A calling hour will be 9:00 to 10a.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Brigid Food Pantry, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
