Anthony John Ascioti, Sr., 94, of Camillus passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital Thursday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in 1921 to Demetrio and Carolina Ascioti. He graduated from Solvay High School where he was an All State Track Runner. After serving in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Walter who predeceased him in 2002. He retired after 30 years from Allied Chemical Research Lab. He was a life member of Solvay Fire Department and served as Chief. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Survivors: his son, Anthony, Jr. (Carol); daughters, Carolyn (Mark) Guidetti, Catherine (Dale) Maze, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Tony's biggest love was spending time with his family and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the Fairmount Fire Department and Rural Metro. Services: 10 am Monday at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery DeWitt. Calling hours will be 3 to 6 pm Sunday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St. Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
