Monica A. (Ryan) Leonik, age 82 of East Syracuse passed away peacefully on April 15, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late William T. and Sophia (Loguski) Ryan on December 20, 1933. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. She was married to the love of her life Stanley P. Leonik for 50 years. She was a member of the Park Hill Mother's Club, and retired from the Carrier Corporation. She enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her friends whom she knew from her school days. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Stanley, and brothers William M. and Joseph W. Ryan. Survivors: a sister, Shirley (James) Halpin of Virginia, and her sisters in law, Marcia and Delores Ryan. She leaves three children, Suellen Leonik (Ray Derby), Peter Leonik, Lisa (Chuck) Hanford, three grandchildren; Sarah Falsey, Chelsea Hanford, Charlie Hanford and 3 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews and Babe-the wonder cat. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday graveside at Assumption Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Francis, Mission Advancement Office, 6900 Buckley Rd., Syracuse, NY 13212. God speed, till we meet again.
