Carol Garn Menapace, 83, of Fairmount passed away Tuesday, at Van Duyn Center. Born in Syracuse she was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School. Carol had previously worked at Kallfelz Bakery and Fay's Drugs. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church, a volunteer for bingo, the bereavement luncheon committee, and worked on two church renovations. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Mary Garn, husband, James Menapace, sons, Patrick and Michael, sisters, Marilyn Bryant and Kathleen Garn. Survivors: son, James Menapace; brother, Francis Robert Garn; sisters, Mary Janet Pirong, Dorothy Gerry Pirong, and Sally Miller; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of 4 North at Van Duyn for their care. Services: 9:30am Friday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 am at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, DeWitt. Calling hours 4-7pm Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home 1921 W. Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
