Chester A. Sobotka, 92, of Camillus passed away Sunday surrounded by his family. Born in Rome, NY he was graduate of Vocational High School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He retired as a Supervisor from Bristol Laboratories in 1984. Chet enjoyed bowling on various teams. He dearly loved his grandchildren and included them in his projects around the house. Chet was a wonderful family man and great example to his whole family. He was a faithful man and communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Katherine, siblings, Joan, Stanley, and Helen, nephew (Godson) Mark. Survivors: his wife of 67 years, Theodosia "Teddy" (Synakowski) Sobotka; daughter, Judy (Paul) Sheridan; grandchildren, Alex, Jon, Andy, and Mary McGlynn; step grandchildren, Colleen, Kyle, and Bridget Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
