Grace Casey Halligan March 4, 2010 Grace Mary Casey Halligan, 94, died peacefully at Loretto Cunningham on Thursday, March 4, 2010. She was born on June 3rd, 1915 to Matthew Casey and Mary Hanlon Casey in Troy, NY. A graduate of Troy High, where she was awarded the History Prize, Grace then won an essay scholarship to and attended Mildred Elley secretarial school. She married Robert Halligan on Thanksgiving Day in 1937. They first resided in Troy, then Loudonville. The couple relocated to Syracuse with their son in 1956, where they were communicants of St Charles Church in Westvale. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Grace moved to Albuquerque in 1990 to be near her sister and niece. In 1998 she moved to Franklin, TN near her son and family, and then back to Syracuse in 2003. Grace was pre-deceased by her husband Robert in 1986. She is survived by her son, Robert (Linda) Halligan of Syracuse; a grandson, Liam Halligan of Syracuse; her sister, Anne McRedmond of Albuquerque, NM; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Great and warm thanks are sent to the wonderful staff at Loretto Cunningham 4th floor for amazing and loving care. Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.
